Open Box Not Used psu from letgo

BigRecoiilz

I found an $80 Corsair Rm500 (not x) on letgo that was taken out of the box, but never used. or so the seller said. should i buy that or a $125 psu from corsair.com rm650x which REALLY stretches my budget?

As long as 500w is enough for your system, I would get the open box one.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

I mean that it's probably a better course of action to snipe a good deal on a PSU when they are in stock rather than relying on the word of some shady letgo seller. You can spend the same amount and get like a 650 watt semi modular unit rated bronze from a good brand.

the modularity doesnt reallt matter to me because i have a psu shroud. but what would you recommend?

PSU prices are absolutely stupid right now. If you don't absolutely need to buy one, don't. If you do absolutely need to buy one, check out EVGA B-Stock or buy a manufacturer refurb w/warranty off of eBay. $80 for an RM500 is...meh?

I'd just assume the seller used it. Maybe not for long, but if it's out of the box and not just in an open box perfectly packaged, assume it was used.

Assuming it is the RM550, $80 for a 7 year old PSU is absolutely not a good deal.

:)

Bullshit. Who puts a PSU into a build then never plugs it in?!

So he's trying to sell a PC that he took the time and energy--and the money--to build, then never turned on to test?

Dude, seriously, f**k that guy. He's shadier than the eastern side of Rosie O'Donnell at 8 PM.

Yeah someone on another site was looking on ebay.

Some dropkick had a GPU up, opened but never used.

Yeah right buddy, sure you didn't install it and keep the packaging.
