Here's mine, it's pretty good, though the side panel is a bit of a bitch to get on, but there's no bulge when you finally manage to get it on.

Front of house: (the cables you can see in the bottom right are from my keyboard and speakers and stuff, not the rig itself)

My new freeNAS server more or less all set up....I'd really love to tidy up the sata power/data cables, but I'm really not sure how sure how. My thought was to buy two single molex to 4 Sata adapter chains (or more, but 4 is the most I've seen) but that will only help once I've added more drives. The second option is to buy more flexible data cables...but I'm not really sure what would work...or if it would even be better. Then there's the fact that the server is going to be sitting in some closet (with airflow, don't panic), so spending money to make the cable management better is just stupid.

/coiling up the sata cables would also help a decent bit....

//I'm considering picking up one of these to tidy up the sata power cables: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812162011,although I think the data cables are the bigger issue.

fill all the hard drive slots! Lol when i think nas i think little box. Looks nice.

Well, I'm probably going to throw in an old 750gb drive I've got lying around (at some point) to do nightly/weekly system backups. But eventually I plan on throwing in another three WD Reds (not for a few years though).

Spent an hour (yes, an HOUR) tearing my setup apart and putting it back together to reduce the cable clutter and cable ugliness behind my desk. Well worth it. Before it was like a spider web and I had a ton of stuff at my feet. Now, it's clean and I have a lot less wires by my feet.

See, that surge protector would go behind my desk. And yes, by something totally ghetto like tape but it would look MUCH better if it was behind the wood/metal thing above it.

Technically it is behind my desk. But I just got a new laptop to go with my trusty netbook (which will probably be a Minecraft server for my house) and my old Windows 98 laptop, so I have to have it accessible. It's actually not really in the way.

EDIT: And I have to keep it in arm's reach since my power sometimes isn't the most reliable.

ah okay, that makes sense.

If I was in your situation, I would just go buy another surge protector and plug it in somewhere else, but ok. Makes sense  :D
