I'm in the process of migrating to a new system and I was wondering if NRPE is still the best solution for remote system monitoring with Nagios? Thanks

For Linux devices, my favorit monitoring method with Nagios is check_by_ssh. It's easy and secure.

NRPE is also still a often used method but due to the project is marked as deprecated it should be replaced. I think NCPA is the new NRPE.

 

Last time I monitored Windows systems, NSClient++ or WMI was the way to go.
