Is Windows saying my PC is old??

I recently updated to Windows 10 1909. And when I came back from the update, I saw this message in my Update Section. My System is NOT THAT old already! I am running a Ryzen 7 2700 on the X470 platform with a 980 Ti FTW. What does this message mean?

Ok I've never seen Windows update like that. Maybe search up what's compatible and try that

it means in there is another windows feature update available

How long have you had this pc? Or the parts.

The version 2004 has some issues with some hardware and/or programs, so M$ is rolling the update in waves and making fixes on the go.

Is it telling me my PC is some how not compatible and out dated now because of newer hardware out there?

i believe it is saying it hasn't downloaded it yet maybe they are still doing testing on AMD hardware but it has rolled out to intel

I can't ether on AMD so that means AMD CPUs aren't supported in the update yet

It's not saying your computer is not new enough, just that some components are not supported yet in version 2004. I just looked into it a bit, and it seems like some manufactures have not verified their drivers in the new version, so they are holding off from updating. I just read that though, so don't quote me on that. 

 

Edit: From the few Reddit posts I've seen with other users getting the same message, they have all been using Ryzen processors, so that could be what is holding back the update.

Nope. It's telling you that you're using something that might have issues if you upgrade to 2004 before they fix it.

 

You can force the upgrade if you want.

How am I suppose to find out what it is that's having an issue? It's literally told me nothing about what needs updating

Basically because MS fired off most of their bug searching team in 2016, so now their insider program is the bug searching team (i.e. using their customers as lab rats). They are now focusing on select processors or platforms, so if you arent one of them you dont get the update.

Wait a while, you should get the update. If it persists, just reinstall windows with 2004 update.

My suggestion is for you to update your windows using Windows Update assistant. To do this, open this link and then click on the Update Now button. If this doesn't troubleshoot your windows update using the Windows update troubleshooter tool.

But I already updated to 1909. Isn't that the latest one? Also I put off Windows updates for 190 Days to make sure their ok and that no one has had issues with them.

2004 is the latest version. It was released at the end of May. 1909 is the version prior. 

 

It's known to have issues, as all of the W10 build updates do at release. They tend to roll out in waves, going for known supported devices first and as testing and validation builds, will roll it out for more systems. 

 

I wouldn't advise updating yet. It hasn't been out long enough to really judge where the bugs are. Also, this is a feature update for the most part, not a security or critical update, so it's not really important for you to apply it. I'd wait until it can be pulled from Windows Update rather than using the update assistant.

No, the new one is a 2004. I completely agree with @Oshino Shinobu reply. He shared great information about the 2004 Windows update. Thanks Oshino.

it means there are potential driver issues or that update hasn't been tested with that particular hardware config. you have to understand that Microsoft doesn't push the update to everyone at once. they push it to Insiders first, if they don't report problems they push it to a small number of consumers, and from there they roll it out.
