As I'm sure most of you know, getting power supplies right now is difficult to say the least. I just finished a build, and in the course of trying to source a PSU, I managed to actually get two. Now, I'm not sure which to actually use. Here's the basics:

My build:

ASUS TUF Gaming X570-Plus WiFi

AMD Ryzen 3700X

Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 5600 XT

G.skill Ripjaws V 32GB (2x16GB) 3600MHz

WD Black 500GB NVMe m.2

The PSUs:

Silverstone Strider 700W 80+ Titanium (ST70F-TI)

EVGA SuperNOVA 650W G+ 80+ Gold (120-GP-0650-X1)

I don't care about efficiency here, really, just overall quality. The 50W difference doesn't matter much, as I'm only at 50-60% load as it is. Both units were roughly $150, which seems to be high for the EVGA and low for the Silverstone, but again, didn't much choice on this part of the build. Regardless, cost isn't a factor. The only thing I see as really differentiating is the warranties. With EVGA, I get 10 year, but the Silverstone only has 5. However, if it dies after 5 years, I'd probably go buy a new one anyways, rather than go through the hassle of an RMA.

Any thoughts?

Sadly I can't comment about this psu's quality

This one is really decent

And it should last you for a while

If you are in the US, I'd go for the Corsair TXM Gold 650 W, if you don't care about modularity too much. It's only $115 (including shipping) on Newegg right now.

If you are in the US and want a fully modular PSU, the be quiet! Straight Power 11 650w Platinum and Straight Power 11 750w Gold are only $135 on B&H.

If you aren't in the US, please tell us what country you are shopping in so that we know where to look for PSUs for you.

From what I can tell, the Silverstone retails for around $200, but I got it off Amazon for $150 by some fluke. From reviews I've read, it seems it's only *just* titanium rated. Apparently, they took some short cuts to get the rating, while keeping cost lower. The ripple is not great, for example, but I'm not planning on heavy overclocking, and it's not technically problematic until near 100% utilization anyways. Where I'm at, the ripple is higher than some units, but still within a perfectly acceptable range, even for overclocking.

If they had to cut some corners I would go for a perfectly good 80 plus gold rated PSU

I would take quality over efficiency 100% of the time

Thanks for those. I looked at reviews for each unit already, but couldn't find any from the same source. That's as close to a head to head as I'm likely to get.

That's pretty much my thinking as well. It's not like either is inefficient, and so what if it costs $1 or something more a month. No biggie. Between the longer warranty and the better overall scores, I think I'll be sticking with the EVGA.
