How to fold with GPU only?

I finally decided to start Folding with the spare GPU (GTX 1050) that has to sit in my unraid server in order for it to post, instead of letting it sit around doing nothing. I don't have Plex Pass so I can't use GPU transcoding anyways. Right now it only seems to be folding with my CPU, a Ryzen 2600 which is the opposite of what I want. I want it to leave my CPU alone and fold fully using my GPU only. I'm using the linuxserver repository docker for Folding@home. Attached is the GUI. How do I change it to use GPU only?

Open the advanced client. Right click the CPU slot and set it to Finish. When it has finished and uploaded the results go to the configure menu and Slots tab. Remove the slot for the CPU.

sorry if this seems like a dumb question, do i open the advanced client on my pc? as my folding at home client is currently running as a docker container in my unraid server

Seems like you could just edit the config.xml and have only a slot for the GPU in there...

And have it added to your Dockerfile

 

ADD config.xml /etc/fahclient/config.xml

Instead of adding it statically to the Dockerfile, I'd mount it into to the container. This way you can update the configuration without having to rebuild the container.

docker run -d \
  …
  --name … \
  --mount type=bind,source=./config.xml,target=/etc/fahclient/config.xml \
  foldingathome:latest

(The other arguments are just an example, the "--mount" option is the important part)

Nice! All my containers run on ECS on spot instances. I could link to some S3 bucket with the config but haven't messed with that.

thanks! edited the config.xml file, restarted the docker and its working as expected now. I also just figured out how to access it from the FAHControl app from my pc, and set the client to launch only manually therefore not actually folding on my main pc.
