GPU unstable core clocks, causes annoying stuttering

bluecew

well you can do that but the problem is the same. Its doesn't matter the card..... its just going to be game dependent.

After maxing out graphics settings if it's still not enough you can try to cap the FPS to 40 or 50...

good point.

not sure what fps the OP is getting but a cap is a good idea.

at least try turning down distance scaling and extended distance scaling.

maybe population density too.

Yep, reducing the options that affect CPU usage is desirable too of course.

I just discovered something new. Just with google chrome open and nothing else, my CPU runs at its maximum frequency all the time in task manager, not sure why. Maybe this is the problem?

No.

Desktop machines don't really slow down under light loads since it doesn't matter like it does for battery-powered laptops.

that looks fine. your at 8%. as for the speed this normal. It only one or two cores boosting up and happens regularly do to how boost works with your CPU.

So I gotta play a graphics setting game now.... lol. What if I don't want to deal with this anymore and just buy another GPU that lessens the bottleneck?

You will also lower your performance if you do that...I don't think that's what you want really....

Do you have a lot of processes running in the background eating some cpu ressources? Maybe turn off anti virus and stuff like that..everything you can, and test again?

actually that confirms the issue. your cpu is pegged which is you bottleneck. might be able to offset this with a change of graphics settings.

what are your graphics setting?

This was from the AMD driver website, is this the problem? I don't want to think that bottleneck is the problem because many people on here and other forums told me to get the RX 5600XT for my CPU. And I have seen benchmarking videos with bottlenecked system configurations and there is no stutter. I don't want to believe that my CPU is the problem.

@bluecew

You came here for help. We understand these things can frustrating, but that facts are the facts. Your cpu is the bottleneck. We continue to try to help you even when you don't want to fallow the advice given by the community.  So, let me give it to you straight.

YOUR CPU IS THE BOTTLENECK.

Solution 1: Working with what you have( In no special order)

             * This will all be game dependent and may change based on the game(s) you play.( Even my GF with her R5 1600 and gtx 1070 has to turn some setting in some games. EX: Doom Eternal and Gears 5

Solution 2: Upgrading your system

  • get a K cpu and overclock (not recommend as its a waste of money)
  • get a z170 motherboard (not recommend as its a waste of money and its a BLCK OC which is a bit more advanced)
  • get a new platform.

Solution 3:

  • Blow on your thumb till your blue in the face (This has been know to help some people)
  • Do more troubleshooting and see if you get different opinions (Will probable end with same results)

RECOMMEND SOLUTION:

Work the S1 till you can get to S2.C

I would probable recommend the same as anything higher would be a waste as the cpu would bottleneck them even more
