First gaming PC in 15 years..

Danm90

Budget (including currency): £1800

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: COD, League Of Legends, CS GO

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Just after some advice, if at all feasible. Trying to understand if anyone has anything similar or understands whether I'm going to have any clearance or fitment issues with the attached spec?

Thanks!

ryzen 9 3900x perform identically with 9900k. but it has 4 more cores and 8 more threads.

that cpu cooler will be good enough for that cpu, same with the motherboard.

for gaming 16gigs of ram is good.

with the savings from cpu you can afford rtx 2080 super.

better airflow case.

no need ofr that high wattage. that system consumes under 450w anyway on 100% stress (harddrivers, cpu, case fans, gpu, ram)

I doubt it.  Clearance and fit Kent usually have to do with air coolers which you don’t have.  There is only one place to put the radiator which is in front though.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

For that amount of money you can get a RTX 2080 Super :)

To be honest I didn't plan on keeping that graphics card past the end of the year, ideally I want the 2080 Ti. Is there much of a difference between the 3900x and the i9?

I'll be playing it on a 4K 100Hz TV for the meantime! 🙈

for that you need a gpu with hdmi 2.1 so you should wait for next gen graphics this september

since the tvs don't have a display port

What should I expect to see in terms of performance from this card in that case?

Thanks!

You will be fine with a 3700X. No need to spend extra on a 3900X if you are just gaming. Even the 6 core R5 3600 is good enough for a gaming pc. You can always upgrade later on.

I would hang on a few weeks for B550 as you will have a lot more choice for boards then.
