try cleaning the internals with some compressed air. Sometimes too much dust gets in and it needs to be cleaned out.

As Jumballi pointed out, it could be overheat protection so check it for dust....if its still in warranty use a can of compressed air to blow it out to avoid voiding your warranty.

Also if you have it on a power strip, try unplugging it from that and plugging direct into the wall, or switching off other devices. Power protection can get tripped in the PS4 power supply

At that point it may be a hard drive issue or a software issue.

You can read here about using Safe Mode to try and recover, upgrade, or reinstall your Software: https://support.playstation.com/s/article/Safe-Mode-PS4?language=en_US

If it has a hard drive fault well...might have to replace the hard drive if its errored.

If it's less than 1 year old and all the tips above don't work, then you might want to think about contacting Sony's support and maybe having to send it in for repair.

What I would do after trying the above stuff is if you have a spare 2.5 HDD or one that you don't mind wiping and installing, I would try installing that to see if it's the HDD. If you don't get any problems on it then you know it's the HDD.

Boot in safe mode and see if stays on.

If its over heating you'll know, they become super loud and then it has an orange light on it.
