I need help with ryzen 5 3600 compatibility with b350 motherboard

So basically, I have a ryzen 3 1200 that I want to replace with a Ryzen 5 3600. I updated my bios to the most recent one and switched the cpus but after I start the computer, it doesnt want to boot. The problem is in the cpu or the compatibility because when I put back my ryzen 3 1200, it works perfectly. Also theres the VGA ez debug light on when the ryzen 5 3600 is on. Please help :(.

MSI doesn't claim 3rd-gen support on the board's page unfortunately, so you might just be out of luck.

ye i have the beta bios too since MSI haven't released or might not even release an official bios. otherwise, its working fine, the benchmark scores i get is pretty much the same as the ones they are releasing and as i said i have been using it since January and haven't encountered any problems escept for the erratic voltages which i assume normal in stock which is why i locked it at CCX1 4.2 and CCX 2 at 4.15 at 1.325v

and ye, i think op resolved it already lol

I used the 3600x on a B450 and i also got those erratic voltage jumps you mentioned. Im currently switching to an x570 Prime Pro and gave the B450 Tomahawk my dad for his office PC....

Did you download your bios from here? https://www.msi.com/blog/the-latest-bios-for-amd-300-400-series-motherboard ? If not where did you get it from. I worked all day yesterday trying to figure it out and it is such a pain in the ass and a big stress for me :(.

So I reseted the Bios using a screwdriver to link the JBAT pins before updating the Bios and then I updated the Bios and my computer booted up perfectly with the old cpu. Now I reseted the bios with the screwdriver again and put the new cpu, still nothing appears on my screen. I noticed something fairly odd though. When I turned on the machine, the graphic card's fan started and then stopped, then the VGA EZ debug led lighted and then the fan restarted and the light went away and eventually came back while the fans is still going. Still nothing :(

Try to return it and get a replacement. It could have just been a dead cpu. Otherwise, try this. With the new bios, turn it on then let it be on for about 2 minutes. If nothing happens return it and get a replacement. It could have just been a faulty cpu since your old one still works.

What i did on mine during the upgrade is

Using my r3 1200, i updated the bios. Then i replaced my r3 1200 with r5 3600. Then turned it on without resetting the bios with the screw driver.
