Where is litecoin going?

What do you think?

 

I am mining with my 560 Ti until i get 1 ltc. Currently i have like 0.66. Just in case they go up to $1000 or something like that.  :P

But the price is going down for a few weeks now.

I think you'll be holding onto it for a few years before it reaches a level like that.

Litecoin is scheduled to produce 84 million coins, Bitcoin only 21 million.

 

Probably won't ever reach similar prices per coin.

but do you think it will at least go up in price in the next time?

It is very unlikely that litecoin will ever reach $1000. In this world everything is possible. It's just that chances are extremely low. On the other hand, I am confident that it will get back to its past $30 high in the quite near future.

Theoretical max value for litecoin is 1/4 the value of bitcoin, so for litecoin to ever reach $1000, bitcoin has to be atleast $4000, and the conversion rate has to be .25 BTC for 1 LTC. (It's at around .025 BTC for 1 LTC right now). While its possible, it would have to take at least 1 year for bitcoin to reach $4000, and then another couple years for the conversion to BTC from LTC to reach .25. I think this is right, but do correct me if I am wrong.

I think the biggest problem Litecoin will need to over come is being Bitcoin dependent. As far as I can tell, if bitcoin were to take a serious hit in value, so would every other crypto currency. Personally, I think bitcoin has too much "bad" associated with it to ever become a widely adopted currency. If litecoin wants to have a future then it needs to do something to distance itself from Bitcoin in the long run.

600kh/s with my 780 using cudaminer, that's not even the highest I can get. That's just where I keep it for reasonable temps. I've got over 700 kh/s when testing   :lol:
