Premiere Pro GPU acceleration problem

Premiere Pro is telling me I need GPU acceleration even though I have the option turned on in my general settings.

Anyone knows what could be wrong here?

 

My GPU is a RX590

I don't think premiere support gpu acceleration with amd gpu's , least not most versions

It does, its supported opencl for a while now.

yeah but that gpu isn't listed in their supported gpus page

Yea I believe Adobe is pretty anal about that too. And they seem to be updating that list with each new version of Premiere and breaking compatibility with older hardware.

Depends on what OP is doing. Some effects are supported some aren't. It's dumb as hell but that's Adobe for ya

yeah they aren't really known for the whole longevity thing anymore with their pay to rent model these days. 

Seems only radeon pro , fire pro , and wx cards are supported in opencl on windows

they don't list any amd consumer gpu in their supported list, but I have used many of them without issues, ops gpu should work fine in premiere pro.

I've never seen two computers running premiere that actually acted the same. complete tossup if one works or not.

I've seen 10 year old machines run it fine and brand new machine can't even start it. putting logic to premiere or after effects is just not sane anymore.lol
