I currently have the GTX 1080 and an i7 7700k.

I want to buy the RTX 2080ti and an i7 9700k.

I want to be able to get consistent 144+ FPS on games like Modern Warfare while Streaming.

I am pretty set on the RTX 2080ti so that would be hard to change my mind off of but I'm not sure if there is a better CPU choice I could make to get the same/better performance at a lower cost.

I am currently experiencing slowdowns in-game and in Windows and my Windows Store is completely broken so I can't play Sea of Thieves or Metro Exodus so I want to format my Windows Install before the upgrade.

Thank you for any help in advance!

EDIT: I believe I posted in the wrong section. Could a Moderator move this to "New Builds and Planning"? I can't see a way for me to do it myself...

Wait for ryzen 4000, geforce 30xx, and x670/b550. Also even the 2080 ti can't do 144+ plus in triple a games at 1440p max settings.

It'd be a total waste of money to buy a 2080Ti this close to the 3080Ti.

For the same price if you wait you can get the 109700k, basically a 9900k at the same price.

If you're experiencing slowdowns the issue probably isn't your hardware.

I'm still gaming on 1080p. I decided not to switch to 1440p at the time for various reasons. Thanks for your reply.

I was saving up for the upgrade for a bit and now that I am able to make it, it's gonna take all my brain cells working together not to buy it all but I'll wait. In the meantime I guess I should just format my PC and install only the essentials until I do make the upgrade. I hate the hassle of backing up stuff before formatting but I guess I need it.

Thanks for your reply!
