Budget : ~ 2500 USD

Country: USA, SF Bay area

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Unreal Engine, Adobe Suite, 3D software, (playing games on a PS4 and later PS5 so probably no games......maybe Skyrim VR because that game is still the shiiiet.

When buying: As soon as possible because this quarantine sucks and my Oculus Quest is not here yet!

My old MSI GE72 Apache laptop is getting old (and me too) and I'm going back to buying a desktop for working mostly with 3D, video and Adobe software. Now I'm not sure if NZXT is the best place for building your pc but they seem professional and the reviews are good.

I have selected the parts and I hope this PC will stay with me for a while. I'm mostly concerned about the heat and noise level, and was hoping someone could take a look at the image and see if this build would be alright, not too noisy or overheating. I'm not gonna overclock anything. Any suggestions are welcomed :)

the motherboard is unneccesarily expensive. you can get a cheaper one (see if any other asus x570 boards are avialable).

similarly, a gold 650W psu would be enough, no need for 850.

the cpu cooler is not enough to cool the 3950x, you need to get a big air cooler or 240/280/360 water cooling.

i would also shift some money from cpu to gpu. get the 3900x and 2080 super instead

Man change the mobo to a Asus X570 TUF Gaming. Don't spend that much on a mobo, not that the ROG Crosshair isn't a good mobo, but it costs too much and I'd invest some of that money in a Asus, MSI or EVGA RTX 2080 Super. Here's an example how your build should look like (if the parts that are listed here can't be found where you're building your PC, just change the components):

If there's no Noctua NH-D15, get a NZXT Kraken Z63.

With this sort of system, you could save yourself what? $400 for a playstation?

You could upgrade this build to a 3950x and buy a controller and play games on it.  PS5 probably isn't going to outperform a PC at this level, if it does, it would likely only do it on a superficial level, where no human being could actually tell the difference.

I want to be clear do not buy the Gigabyte B450 Auros Pro motherboard

It is there to indicate the price of the Asus Tuf x570 non-wifi motherboard, that PP doesn't list a price for...roughly speaking that is how much it is, it is a placeholder and nothing else.

The Dark Rock Pro 4 and the Noctua NH-D14 are the same price, about $90, but again PP doesn't list a price for the Dark Rock Pro 4.

The SSD is for booting from, and not much else, you would will want to get solid state storage, but as mention if you take the $400 for a PS5 and spend it on Storage you will have terabytes of high speed storage.

Super thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately I don't have that many options when choosing CPU coolers or motherboards. The reason I choose the Ryzen 3950x is because of this review and also because it's easier to upgrade the video card later, but after some more research I think I can go with the 3900 and should last a while.

If I were to get 2080 Super, then it cost $220 more and the difference is not that much according to my research.

Also, are there other websites like NZXT BLD that you would recommend?

No no, change the MSI Gaming Edge, It's one of the worst X570 motherboards. I beg of you. For the Asrock x570 Gaming 4, I don't know about it. I guess you're left with the ROG Crosshair. I didn't knew that NZXT had not that many options to choose from.
