Quick power supply question

Just here to ask a quick question... I currently have I Ryzen 5 2600 and a GTX 1660 running on a EVGA bronze 500w power supply, and was wondering if I could upgrade to a Ryzen 7 2700 and still have it run with 500w or would I need to get a better power supply?

500W is plenty, the PSU itself needs to be good too.

 

The EVGA B2 would be alright, the BQ, BR or BT would be.. Well it would probably work, but not recommended.

All the other EVGA Bronze PSU's generally fall into lower ranges I could not really recommend for this setup.

So I suppose it depends on the exact PSU.

500W is enough. For reference my R7 3800x, GTX 1080 Ti, 6 drives, and 7 fans only actually pulled 475W max under full load.

 

That said what specific model is your PSU?

The BR is okay, it's not the greatest, not the worst, it will work fine but consider a PSU upgrade in the future.
