Cheap psu with 5 years warranty

hey guys can you trust this ''5 year warranty" ? what does that really mean is the company are confident for they are making or it is just a scam because i have seen high end psu's with only 5 years warranty ?

Thermaltake isn't that bad but I don't picture them as a PSU manufacturer. Regardless, I wouldn't get a cheap PSU. It may have a 5 year warranty but that's on the power supply itself, not the thousands of dollars of computer it might destroy.

This is Thermaltake's bottom of the line PSU, but with an RGB fan.

It costs the same as many better PSUs because you're paying extra for the RGB fan (nothing is free).

Is the RGB fan really that important to you?

If not, what country are you located in  and what is your budget?

budget : 1000$

in my country the only two brands that are available and they are on the tier list are thermaltake and cooler master, the only corsair i found is the cv650

i was about to build a 3600x (same price as the non x) + 5700 but since the tier list is recommending high end psu if follow that logic and what is available in ly country i should get a cooler master mwe gold or master watt gold or thermaltake toughtpower grand rgb gold 3 choices but they are a bit expensive here so it will bring my gpu choice down if i get one of the 3 choices it will be a ryzen 3600 + 1660 super or cheap 1660 Ti what should i do ? psu over gpu or high end gpu and cheap psu ?

Corsair CV650 should be ok, it's not great but would work just fine with GTX1660 Ti\Super. Although i wouldn't recommend it for RX5700, smth like CM MWE Gold would be good but if it's too expensive for you then yep, get a GTX1660 Super with Corsair CV650 then.

I have a Thermaltake 500w psu its 80 plus white rated and it has worked fine for nearly a year and a half, Thermaltake might not be the flashiest brand but they are well established and have been around for awhile. Since most modern cases cover the psu, having a super high end brand would be a waste of money in my opinion, and cable extensions can hide the less than fancy cables entirely.

The problem with thermaltake isn't that they're good or bad, it's that they're often more expensive.

Only reason I own 5 is because when I was building computers during the botcoin craze, they were the only ones left because of the high price tag. They all work great, but I paid a good $20 more than I needed to.

For refernce this is the unit I use: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Wbhj4D/thermaltake-smart-500w-80-certified-atx-power-supply-ps-spd-0500npcwus-w

I run a Ryzen 5 3600x with a Gigabyte GTX 1650 with a 6 pin power connector, gpu isn't a power house, but they make 600w and 700w units as well.

Just because you are lucky doesn't mean everyone else would be.

The Smart is double forward, group regulated with a sleeve bearing fan.  Nearly every aspect of it is cheap.

Luckily, your PC could run on a decent 350W PSU.  Doesn't matter if it also comes in 600W and 700W.  It's just the same garbage with higher wattage ratings.

Ok.  Don't take my word for it.

Recommending a PSU because it has been 'fine' for you does not make it a good PSU. Buying a PSU specifically for the brand name only is not a good investment, but buying one from a reputable brand that used quality components in the PSU IS recommended. A PSU is a terrible piece of hardware to cheap out on. A cheap PSU can kill hardware in a system without dying itself. This unit in particular is not very good.

Efficiency does not equal quality and even brands like Corsair have made bad PSU's.

Keep in mind a quality 550W unit is enough, for reference my R7 3800x, GTX 1080 Ti, 6 drives, and 7 fans only has pulled 475W max under full load.

So I would recommend a quality unit over a high wattage one. The Corsair CV650 (grey label not green) is a decent choice. The Cooler Master MWE Gold is better, but do not go past 550W.

Refer to this list to help guide you:

I generally recommend Tier B+ or higher if possible.

The 5700 can sip a lot of power, and the processor you've picked indicates that you plan to upgrade it in the future. So you shouldn't be thinking mid tier but rather a tier above that so that your future upgrades all run smoothly.

Yes.  The Toughpower Grand is a very good PSU.  If it's cheaper than the Cooler Master MWE Gold, then it's a steal.

If it's more than the MWE Gold, get the MWE Gold.

i found this one its about 15$ cheaper than the thermaltake one
