Battery recognized, not charging

Hello, i have a dell inspiron e1505(old af) i kinda need to use this laptop and can not afford to purchase another, i am running jt on cloudready chromium os 32bit. I bought a new battery , i believe it is not Original equipment, but an off brand one, the laptop recognizes the battery and when i plug the ac cord in it shows that it is charging but the battery percentage does not change at all, now the battery has %20 and i have no way of charging it, and since it arrived i did not charge it at all.

please any help, i kinda need this since i have no other way of portable connection to the internet, except my phone.

thank you

Do you still have the original battery? If so try using it and see if that will charge. If it does then there’s an issue with the new battery itself and you should try to return it/get a replacement.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

Quote or tag me so I can see your response
