Question about designing keycaps

How do you design a sheet like this? How do you know how big the print is? I’m very interested on the keycaps video...

Easiest is just using your graphic design program of choice and export a png/pdf.

Something like Photoshop or Gimp could work, but something like Illustrator or Inkscape might just be preferred, since that way you have infinitely scaling images.

300DPI is pretty much standard for printing anything digital. But a higher DPI could be helpful for more detail.

Just depends on the quality you're expecting.

I think in the video they talked about the pictures being like 12mm*12mm (which make sense, since a normal keycap is 19.05mm*19.05mm), so a 12mm*12mm image at 300DPI is 142*142 pixels.

But I would definitely work at a higher resolution (or with vectors) when designing such images.

By the way, just to be clear, when I said:

I meant that it is recommended to work on a higher resolution/with vector and just export at your desired resolution at the end.
