Hey everyone,

I'm seriously pulling my hair out here. Every time I try to play Counter-Strike 2, my computer crashes with a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). Screenshot of the dumps are on top. It's happening constantly, with errors all over the place: "PAGE ERRORS," "SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTIONS," but the most common one is "KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED."

The kicker? I can play other games without a hitch, so it seems to be specifically a CS2 issue.

I've already thrown everything I can think of at this problem, but nothing seems to work:

  • Reinstalled CS2
  • Verified game cache integrity
  • Updated all drivers (including a clean install with DDU for Nvidia drivers - tried at least 10 times!)
  • Ran SFC command
  • Completely replaced RAM (2x 16 GB Kit)
  • Adjusted page file settings
  • Reset BIOS
  • Reseated all motherboard components

Just to clarify, this ONLY HAPPENS in Counter-Strike 2. No other game triggers these BSODs.

My System Specs (in case they're relevant):

  • OS: Windows 11
  • MOBO: Asus B550 F-Gaming Wifi II
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5800x Stock Speed
  • RAM: 32 GB 3600 MHz Corsair Vengance RGB
  • GPU: MSI Geforce RTX 4060ti (Newest Driver Installed)

Anyone else encountered BSODs while playing CS2 specifically? At this point, any ideas on what might be causing this and how to fix it would be a godsend!

Thanks in advance for any help!

Kinda sounds like instability, check your temps and try turning off XMP.

Done Both. XMP (or in ASUS's case "DOCP") is off!
Temperatures are fine.

Here is a video of my BIOS settings:

(THE RAM SPEED IS FALSE I KNOW. This video was recorded BEFORE the RAM was changed. Otherwise it remained the same:)

Here are the dumps:

LOOKING FOR THE SOLUTION?

I may have found the solution already. Although maybe not quite: I'm still testing. I was reinstalling everything including iCUE to manage the RGB lighting and noticed that I cannot change the lighting on my motherboard with iCUE. So I Googled and found Asus Amore Crate to Control the RGB Lighting. I always taught it was bloatware so I never looked at it And the moment it was installed it prompted.me to update like 3 drivers for Bluetooth and THE ASUS CHIPSET DRIVER FROM 4.0 SOMETHING to 5.03 - The change log I found included some fixes for bluescreens!!! The bad news is: It doesn't name the Bluescreens there that Im experiencing! Still updated it of course and it seems to at least help with the problem somehow. So I ran CS2 now for some time and no Bluescreens happend so far for like 1 hour.

The ridiculous part about this: Asus doesn't seem to make.this CHIPSET DRIVER available on their website to download. They only seem to offer it through their shit ass software.

I'm still testing. Maybe I had a lucky gaming session so far or the problem was fixed in the most random style possible. Ending my suffering.

If another blue screen appears I'm going to write ✍🏻 again..if I don't: It may have fixed it.
