How far can you Overclock Ryzen?

With safe limits, how much further a 3rd Gen Ryzen can be overcloked?
How far will the temps go?
And with everything thrown at it, how much can these chips pull off?

1.35v isnt considered safe on third gen.......

And how far you can go depends on which gen of ryzen.

Well.

Third gen can reach between 4,2-4,4ghz depending on how you overclock. Within the upper limit of 1,325v.

So depending o. What CPU you have, it quite likely you are better of just running with PBO enabled and just let the CPU do its thing.

with tweeks, I got my 9600k to 5 ghz with 1.3v only.
I do love the speed that intel offers yet low core counts and threads are forcing me to go ryzen 3rd gen.

Planning to get a 3800x primarily and down the road get a 3900x/3950x.
I do 3d rendering and codng also occationally play games. Now that I'm gonna upscale my renders, I have to get tons of cores and threads and also close to Intel's speed.
Thinking of overclocking anything I'm gonna get

Note that the IPC of zen 2 is higher than that of intel. About 10-15% better. So when you work out the math, the speed is quite similar per core.

Dont.

The 3700x is identical as long as you enable PBO.

@GoldenLag

Currently I'm using the h100i platinum from corsair and with the new pc, should I get a nh-d15 or get another aio?
I do appreciate the extra 4C or 5C the aio pulls of than air coolers. Or should I get Byski or Barrow parts and liquid cool it with mid-tier water cooling parts?
When comes to points of failure, I always check my systems before startup and also keep monitoring on in the background.
What's your thoughts?

I see no reason to change, providing the AIO is still working.

I dont see a reason to do so.

It's for the new built, not the current.

I have a 3950x, and I'm barely able to overlock it at all. But it does generally hover at 4.2-4.3 ghz at stock.

I would suggest to enable PBO and relax. And focus on RAM OC, with optimized timings.

Life is really challenging. I don't always suceed: )

would suggest getting a Cryorig R1 or a Dark Rock Pro 4 as an aircooler offering.

if you have to get a water cooler, then the Arctic Liquid Freezer 2. tho i do suggest that people stick to aircoolers for their longevity.
