Strange choices but not bad at all. As long as you're happy with the way it performs it doesnt really matter, now does it?

either that or an i5 with a r9 270x, think about that for a second, what would you get.

i5 and 270x for sure, games are beginning to become more cpu intensive. And if this is a budget build, go AMD for cpu as well

No they are not, not even close, look at the history of games, back in 2007-2010 hell yeah cpus made a massive difference but an i3+290 will completely shit on a i5 or i7+ 270x, if its a modern game and it has decent optimizing and furthermore the rage at the moment is mantle, what would of happened a year from now, many more games will have mantle, nvidia are likely to come up with a solution like mantle and maybe directx could be more gpu dependant, for example there is one cpu intensive map on bf4, that is siege of shanghai, in which i get lower frames compared to other maps, when mantle came my fps tripled whereas it merely increased by around 30-40% which is still a lot but there is a massive contrast. but still if its low end then you are correct amd cpu ftw, not an apu however those still suck.

cpu: intel i5 4670k @ 4.5ghz Ram: G skill ares 2x4gb 2166mhz cl10 Gpu: GTX 680 liquid cooled cpu cooler: Raijintek ereboss Mobo: gigabyte z87x ud5h psu: cm gx650 bronze Case: Zalman Z9 plus

Listen if you care.

Cpu: intel i7 4770k @ 4.2ghz Ram: G skill  ripjaws 2x4gb Gpu: nvidia gtx 970 cpu cooler: akasa venom voodoo Mobo: G1.Sniper Z6 Psu: XFX proseries 650w Case: Zalman H1

You better be thanking mantle dude.   Without it you would have 1 serious bottleneck, I would advise getting at least an i5 when possible.

I don't get it, the only game that lags a little is the witchern2 (30fps) and thats with all the settings maxed out. I haven't encountered it in any other game and non of them support mantle.

Okay, well as long as your happy :)  But I would still get an i5 because that should improve your fps a bit.
