Will the new Ryzen CPUs coming out in Q3 require a mobo upgrade?

I'm currently running two machines with X570 architecture, one a 3900x and the other a 3600x. My plan was to move the 3900X to the 3600 machine & replace the 3900 with the next gen processor. I have an Aorus X570 Elite mobo (and aside from upgrading to the Pro) has anyone heard anything about the reqs for the next gen? New mobos, backwards compatibility, or anything in that neighborhood?

Yep, 4000 series is supposed to still be AM4 and probably work with X570.

No you're ok, 4000 series will use AM4.

But the one after that, the 5000 series, will need a new motherboard.

4000-series is support on socket AM4 motherboards.

However, a BIOS update will be necessary / required.

Most likely. I think Ryzen always had new chipsets and functionalities released with the CPU's.

X670 is supposed to launch with the 4000 series and probably later B650 will launch

Not sure about B650...because B550 isn't even here yet 

I dunno, AMD recently announced B550 motherboards will start to hit the market in June 2020...and then B650 like 3 months later?

B650 probably will take a year or so after the 4000 series launch, like how the B550 is taking pretty long after the 3000 series launch. I don't think it will launch along side the 4000, but it will probably exist sometime in the future.
