I've been thinking about getting an SSD, i don't Need one but everybody says its such an improvement. I figured as long as im spending the money maybe i should just go all out and do something like 2 120gb drives in raid 0, would you suggest this to be a good idea?

Also are there any SSDs that I should stay away from or are they all pretty much okay?

Thanks in advance

If it was me I would just get a 240gb SSD, more reliable.

PC: Corsair C70 Arctic, FX 9370, Corsair H80i, Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3, Corsair Vengence 16gb, Palit JetStream GTX 970, OCZ Vertex 4 128gb and Western Digital Blue 1Tb + 500gb, Antec Gamer 520w

Peripherals: Logitech G19 and SteelSeries Sensei RAW

Toshiba L50-A: i7 4700mq, 8gb, 1TB HDD, GT 740M 2gb

That is not a good idea. You really get no performance improvement on RAID0 on SSD's and in the rare event of a failure, you lose everything. Typically a single 240GB will have better performance as well then a single (or raid0) 120GB one.

Intel, Samsung, Kingston, Plextor all make good products. Scandisk as well..

There's little point putting ssd's in raid 0 for normal use. It only increases sequential transfer speeds when what makes the system feel snappy and fast is the random read speed and random access time.

If you really do want it why not go for it? after all the "wants" are what drive us the most compared to the needs.

If that were me and I want it I'd go with it and regret all the bejesus later when something went wrong.[

but I didn't want it nor need it so I'm happy with a single boot.

or you could do it this way.

buy a single 120gb ssd like the intel 335 or something reliable. then grab a samsung evo 1tb for main game storage. then a couple of wd black 2tb-4tb for steam games. and another 2tb-4tb red for media and other file. of course you should not buy it all in 1 go if the cost will be not eating 3 meals a day.

Live your life like a dream.

Terrible idea; unnoticeable gains, increased failure risk, more expensive. There's no point.

Unless you are doing large serial writes and reads a RAID 0 array of ssd can actual perform worse than a single larger drive. You can see the numbers at http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ssd-raid-benchmark,3485-13.html.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
