Need feedback on how this build is price to performance. Also interested in making the build a bit cheeper. And i'm still up to debate of paying a ridiculous money for a 240Hz monitor, as this pc should be able to handle 240fps.

  • Don't get MSI X570 boards, they're trash.
  • I wouldn't get that SSD either, personally I'd go for a 1TB nvme and ditch the spinning rust. If you need more storage, add it later.
  • That is way too much money for a mouse pad. My desk pad cost maybe $15.
  • You didn't bother telling us what the system is for, but if it's just gaming, drop to a 3600x.

A brown noctua in an rgb build.  No.  For one the 3700x won’t overclock so you get nothing for it.  Omit the cooler entirely and use the stock cooler.  It’s got rgb on it, it’s smaller, and you won’t be able to usefully OC anyway.  (Yes OC is possible, it’s just not useful). Take some of the money from the cooler and buy a tomahawk x570, or save even more and get a high end b450.  Low end x570 boards are frequently not as good as high end b450 boards while costing more.  If you just got the feels for x570 get the tomahawk.  It’s a much much better design.  Worth the $50 over that other one.

Only downside of the stock cooler is it’s not super quiet and it’s got a garbage bearing so you’ll eventually have to replace the fan.  No reason not to let it live out it’s days though.  It’ll do a year or two probably.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

@DillwithitI have made some changes to your original computer configuration to lower the cost to being under $1800 with better price to performance components.

- Enjoy building your new computer and don't forget the thermal paste!

Hope this information post was helpful  ?,
