I bought this game during the 50% off sale (still pissed that I payed for it tho glad I didn't pay full price), cuz god damn I can't even play it on max graphics, it crashes with some directx error every time. I lowered them to about 65-75% of max and it ran without crashing for a few single player missions I played through.  Seriously how do they get away with this shit?

I'm so happy though I didn't buy BF4. Try BF Bad Company 2.  You can get it on steam and its still awesome.  Also you could have refunded it...

I'm enjoying it, a very tiny little bit shaky at start, it got bad a fortnight or so ago, where I was having a lot of trouble with connecting to servers, crashing and the like, though the past week, give or take a day or two, has been pretty solid in that regard.
I still find moments where I'm getting shot when I'm in cover, and I can understand it's a lot of information to transfer not to just the server, but to everyone else as well, but in an FPS it's necessary to have those very, very micro updates because it's a game of seconds, for sure.

Those moments are far and few in between, I find myself complaining more about people not knowing what they're doing, my incapability with FPS games and my stupid moments where I realize things I could have done better after I die.

EDIT:
I'm running a 680, if that's a necessary thing I should state.

I've got two in there, with an SLI bridge, though I've got my doubts as to if it's actually functional...

I used to be able to play it on high with absolutely no problems. A couple updates ago EA started breaking the game for me. There was the update that made it so I couldn't hear guns or anything and then the last update which made BF4 start crashing every once in a while and when I play multiplayer it's so laggy and choppy that I can't play it at all even though I'm getting a ping in the 30s and my FPS is over 40 most of the time. (On a GTX 650ti SC 2GB overclocked.)

That sound issue only happens on first match..Just wait for next round and you will have sound..

Turn down settings your GPU isn't really gonna handle HIGH that good..

Project reality and Forgotten Hope 2 are the best mods for BF2 in my opinion. Vanilla bf2 was nothing special, but the mods are what made it great.

Yeah. Turning the settings from ultra to low actually only give me about a 10-20 FPS increase.
