Wondering where to ask about soldering rgb strips.

RGB strips don't solder on.  You plug them in.

Make sure to quote or tag me (@JoostinOnline) or I won't see your response!

sorry for misscomunication i meant when soldering rgb strips how much power is needed for 15m of 5050 rgb

Find out how many devices per foot/meter, multiply by total feet/meters, and add 20 per cent overhead, if the calculators online are any indication.

@The1Dickens What do you mean by devices per meter?

The devices are the diodes. Knowing their W, how many per meter, and how many meters determines your consumption.

They might be in devices per foot, but a measuring tape would be good enough. The strip's specsheet might have that, as well as power consumption per foot/meter (which covers half the math for you). Depending on where you bought it, it might be in the listing heading (for example this one is 60 LEDs per meter).

@The1Dickens ive searched the whole website maybe i missed something if you dont mind can u check ? https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07W54PQDD/ref=ox_sc_act_image_4?smid=A3W1ARFCWJR0HL&psc=1

Well, it says its 32.8 feet long, and there are 300 LEDs, so that means it is 9 LEDs per foot. The listed power (in the 'Technical Details' section) says the total power is 36W, for 10m. Since each roll is 5m, that means 18W per roll, or 3.6W/meter. Using any of those numbers now, 3.6W/meter for 15 meters is 54W; or you can go since 18w per 5m roll, and you have (essentially) 3 rolls, 18 x 3 = 54W. Implementing the 20 per cent rule, you get 64.8, so if you can find a 65+ watt power supply, you'll be good.

Sometimes, listings make it difficult and you have to dig through the information. It wasn't too bad this time, luckily.

That one you linked has a controller with it. It looks like it's powering 2 strips, so I'd imagine it would be enough without a separate power supply, but if you do need another power supply, you might need another controller, too. If you bought 2 of those kits, you'd be golden. Also, that kit has a power supply/controller already. Not sure what you would need a separate power supply for.

@The1Dickens by golden do u mean not needing to buy a controller and power supply or...?

Yes. Sorry. When someone/something is 'golden' it means they are good to proceed to the next course of action.

@The1Dickens so no need for controller and powersupply for 2 of those 10m packs ?

The kit should come with that, from the page you linked previously. If it does, then, correct. You do not need anything more.

yea, i think with that u get however big of a strip u want and plug it into the controller thing, i dont THINK that there is any soldering required unless you wanted to wire it up with ur own controller and power supply and such (i dont know for sure though, correct me if im wrong)
