Fortunately, not extremely low.

So I'm putting together a build for a friend's friend's son. That wasn't a typo, I accidentally let people know I can do this stuff. Anyway, it's around $500, and it's extremely tight around $500. I was told he could go $50 more, but if I add that $50, there's less of a chance he'll be able to buy it in time.

This build is nothing extraordinarily brilliant. MicroATX, no real room for upgrades, built for just minor gaming as asked of me.

CPU:  AMD Athlon X4 750K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($79.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard:  MSI FM2-A75MA-E35 Micro ATX FM2 Motherboard  ($57.78 @ Newegg)
Memory:  PNY Optima 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1333 Memory  ($68.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card:  EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Video Card  ($149.99 @ Amazon)
Case:  Xion XON-560 MicroATX Mini Tower Case  ($34.98 @ Newegg)
Total: $484.70
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

Is there anything I can change or fix? It looks alright to me, but I love getting second opinions on this.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

i know it would be over kill but id get a better cooled 750 ti like the acx even thought it uses more power it would be worth it for over clocking and performance

It's a kid who's getting the PC, he's not going to be interested in overclocking.

Hmmm... Can you change the memory to a 1600MHz? I know it doesn't matter but we better be ready for the future, right? :P

I changed the RAM for a single faster 8gb stick so he can later upgrade to 16gb if he wants and I also grabbed another case and an FM2+ motherboard for upgradability.

Gaming performance isn't really improved from 1333MHz to 1600MHz unless it's integrated graphics.

The guy can't even afford to go about $550 so I can't. It looks like a decent build otherwise but out of budget.

Plus he told me he wanted this build at first - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4959021&CatId=1887

I don't want to mock his intelligence but I know he's not going to be able to configure a setup with an SSD seeing that he thinks that's a more powerful build than mine.

The 430w is already okay. I would probably get the 1GB ver. of the GTX 750ti to save up a few more bucks. Here's the pricing for the 1GB ver.

I wouldn't put in an SSD. I don't know how old the kid is but any kid who isn't remotely familiar with computers will just install all his junk on the SSD and not know why he can't install anymore.

The XFX is cheaper, it's on sale. I only chose that 750 Ti since it has a nicer cooler, the thing's gonna choke in a small case with little cooling otherwise me thinks.

There's a 7870 on newegg for $170 after rebate:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150605

If you put this into the original build instead of the 750ti, the total cost would be $500.

I was told to stay away from XFX GPUs, otherwise I would have added that instead. Is there actually anything wrong with it asides from bad OC potential?

I don't personally have any experience with XFX graphics cards, but the reviews seem to be pretty positive, and the XFX support seems pretty good. They replied to just about every review on newegg.
