This is going to be my first rig so I would like if you guys can tweak this build that I have made.

If there is anything wrong with the build I would like to know why. I am new to building so I have little knowledge when it comes to parts that work well together.

cheers

Do you absolutely need a wifi card?  And a noctua nh-d14 is a bit overkill for that cpu, get a hyper 212 instead from coolermaster.

If you can, get a samsung 250gb evo, they're like 30$ cheaper and faster too.

This. With the money you save on the SSD, I'd buy an 8320.

You can save another $30ish on RAM unless you like the color/aesthetics of that one.

Hi and welcome to the forum!  :D

I'd just change the CPU cooler and the SSD. The CPU cooler maybe to the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO or a Noctua NH-U12S. The SSD go for a Samsung 840 EVO.

i'm a potato

As I mentioned this is my first build.. So I am pretty much what you can call a sucker for things.

As for the WiFi that can easily be taken out of the build.

I am not too familiar with the CPU Coolers.. Is their a reason for the change from noctua to coolermaster? aside from overkill

The noctua is great, but the 6300 doesn't really put off enough heat to even remotely make use of the cooler, so you can easily save 30~ $ with a coolermaster 212.

If you can, look into "powerline adapters" it essentially makes the wiring in your house an internet connection, and they're only like 40-70$

What will the system be used for?

Is there a reason that you didn't use the NZ partpicker?

What is the NZ$ budget?

There's nothing inherently wrong with the build but you can get much, much better for the money: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2WAQJ

System will be used primarily for gaming since I have an ultrabook that I can use for University.

Didn't even know there was an NZ partpicker. Thanks

$NZD budget is a max of $2500 (with monitor and OS. I already have M/KB and headset.)

Some changes I believe will improve the build. A more powerful cpu. A slightly smaller cpu cooler that is equally quiet and almost as good as the NH-D14. A different motherboard that is better quality. Slightly less expensive memory that matches the motherboard's color scheme. A Barracuda hdd less expensive and marginally slower than the WD Black. Bother are reliable. GTX 770 gpu for a better gaming experience.

Thank you for taking the time.

In the future if I were to build a new rig or maybe tweak this current build depending if my budget were to increase/decrease.

How can I know what Mobo to buy?

In no particular order, read reviews, check out manufacturers' web pages, ask here.
