Specs
gtx 1060 3gb

amd ryzen 7 2700x 8 cores 16 threads

8gb 3200 mhz ddr4 2x4gb

I am playing rust on max everything is fine 80 fps and after 5 mins or so it just drops to 25 and its unplayable not smooth not anything. I tried to lower everything to 0 I have 140 fps and again drops to 60 fps but its not smooth I have 30ms delay. How to fix? I downloaded newest drivers I am currently updating windows I will edit if it works if it doesnt works then I wont edit also I putted power plan highest and in nvidia control panel I also putted high performance (prefer maximum performance)
And still it drops to 25 and its unplayable

Before you start telling your graphic card is bottleneck or something. Graphic card is bottleneck but that is not a problem I restarted my windows and then this started to happen for no reason so its not graphic card before restarting I had like 80 fps all time to 150 no drops lower then 60 and if it was 60 delay was just like 5 ms not 30ms or something.

yes so your gpu is overheating and throttling, decreasing performance. check that the fans are working properly and it's not full of dust. it's not normal for a gpu to reach 99.

That was also before I reinstalled my windows always at 99 not going higher also everything is working good I reinstalled windows and then that just happens stupid fps drop

Maybe its at windows update is almost done cause before I had 1909 version now I have older

"For no reason" and promptly tells us the GPU is running at 90+C.  Uh yea that's overheating.  Mine for example never goes above 65C.

Yea but thats not problem for fps drop before reinstalling windows I was playing at 80 fps all time

When you reinstalled Windows, did you use DDU to totally remove the old drivers prior to installing the latest Nvidia drivers? If not, I'd give that a try.

What software are you using to monitor your temps? If it's something known to be reliable like HWinfo64 or HWmonitor then you DEFINITELY have a temp problem if your GPU is running at 90+ C. You can choose to ignore that bit of info all you like, and it may not be the root of your FPS drops, but you graphics card WILL be throttling hard if you're really running at 99 degrees C.

Be sure to QUOTE or TAG me in your reply so I see it!

Dude maybe your gpu fan died or something it isn't always windows update. Something is wrong with your GPU is it's going over 90C why don't you fix that instead of continuing to cry about windows update

I probably hold the record for the least number of posts to get Linus to respond to me :)

Via DDU or using the Nvidia installer's "Clean Install" option? Not trying to be pedantic, but DDU is more thorough and just want to make sure there's no lingering driver files causing your issues.

check with the hwinfo that how muc RPM does your fan have meaning that how high it spins.

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

Yeah, give that a go and report back.

I'm still leaning towards a temp-related issue, but if your fans are really spinning at 3k RPM the temps shouldn't be THAT high. Can you take off the side panel and upload a pic on the internal case config? That might help diagnose airflow issues or something else.
