First upgrade in 6+ Years

Finally time to upgrade my current desktop, I'm giving my old one to my brother so need to replace everything.  I think I have a good feel for it but just wanted an suggestions on what I have picked.

1. Budget/Location 

Budget $1,500ish Midwest USA

2. Aim

General purpose workstation, gaming (1080 for now can't afford new monitors too), possibly some streaming but it wouldn't be the main focus.

Games I play or want to play:

City Skylines (thus the 32 gb of ram lol)

Apex Legends

I'd like to do some VR in the future so not sure if I should make any changes for that (Linus makes me want to try beat saber!)

3. Monitors

I run 2 all the time currently, 3 is a dream but probably not realistic.

4. Peripherals

I have all the peripherals (headset, mouse, speakers, webcam etc.) and an OS license already.

5. Why

Performance increase, current graphics card is out of date, and I can't stream and play without major lag.

 

Any input would be valuable, just want to make sure I am spending the money I have well.

This is actually a decent build considering that price point.. Also you mentioned you will be outputing 1080p on the two monitors. That will bring the crispiness little bit to the down side as 1080p stretched to 2 displays can reduce the entire resolution displayed. So probably try to buy some decent monitors too. But still this setup is very much gamable.

Yeah, your components will work just fine - you picked expensive items though and I'd recommend looking at the builds posted above. You can either save money or get better performance for the same price.

So from what I am seeing:

1. Don't worry about the 3600 ram speed, go with 3400 or 3200 and I probably won't notice the difference?

2. NVME just get a cheeper one?

3. Get a smaller powersupply, 750 is overkill.

4. 2070 Super over RX 5700 XT?  Will that help with VR if I end up going that route?

1. The G.Skill kit that most people listed is also 3600MHz/CL16
2. Yeah, you won't notice a difference in gaming. You could even drop down to a Crucial P1 or Silicon Power A80.

4. 2070 Super is about $100 more expensive and marginally better (~10% at best iirc) - it's encoder might be useful for streaming though, if that's something you are interested in.

That case is also pretty expensive and I'd take a look at cheaper options of equal build quality and maybe even better airflow.
