Posted April 15, 2020 Hello everyone, So recently I upgraded my gpu from a geforce 970 to a rx 5700 xt. The issue is now i have a large cpu bottleneck with my current Intel Core i5 4460. As a result I am looking to upgrade my cpu and motherboard to support my new card as well as enabling me to stream. I am using this setup for max fps at highest settings while gaming and streaming. Running games at 2560x1440p. Current build: Intel Core i5 4460 @ 3.20GHz 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @799MHz ASRock H81M-DGS R2.0 8176MB ATI AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT 931GB Seagate ST1000DM003-1SB10C (SATA) 111GB KINGSTON SV300S37A120G (SATA-2 (SSD) 700W Powersupply I was hoping some of you would be able to suggest a solid cpu/motherboard combination to support my recent gpu upgrade. My budget for the cpu/motherboard would be around $700 CND. I was leaning towards a Ryzen cpu but am open to any and all advice for, or against AMD. Thank you!! Posted April 15, 2020 AMD is good right now, but if you have the patience to wait for 4th gen this summer/fall, it will be worth it. For now though, I would get a 3700x and an MSI Gaming pro carbon. May be a bit over budget but I promise, its well worth it.

Posted April 15, 2020 Ripjaw timings are shit - CL19 is not really good and negates the fast speed. Try for CL17 or lower Also, if you stretch a bit, get an X570 board since 150 CAD for a B450 is not good value PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor ($424.75 @ Vuugo) Motherboard: ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4 ATX AM4 Motherboard ($199.70 @ Vuugo) Memory: Patriot Viper Steel 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory ($129.99 @ Amazon Canada) Total: $754.44 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-04-15 11:01 EDT-0400
 You can pair that with a Ryzen 5 CPU series and go for like a MSI B450 tomahawk max for the motherboard.
 Do you have any suggestions for such a motherboard? Will it impact performance?
