Hey all, first time posting on this forum, literally signed up to get some advice.

I've had a couple of friends run through a build with me and give me advice, this is what ive come up with.

What do you think? Any criticism is constructive for me.

Thanks all!

Adam

EDIT: I have also bought a case, and I have a 1TB HDD in my current PC I can use also.

Hello,

Better for less :

If you just game (no work, no streaming) you can go with a 3600 instead and perhaps a 2080S

for a gaming rig i'd go for this instead. more power to the gpu (where it's needed), faster ram (c16 vs c18, also cheaper), much better psu

MSI MAX boards are a cheaper option and work out of the box.

Cheaper RGB Ram and better PSU. The 5700XT is faster than the 2060S, and not that far behind the 2070S.

The Crucial P1 is fine for a gaming pc, but I would rather have the Sabrent SSD.

I swapped out the GPU and MB, however it says there is an incompatibility issue?

Hey all, can you talk me through the benefits of saving £100 on the Motherboard I was going to buy? :)

well, main benefit is you save 100. the x570 has pcie 4, that's the only advantage and at the moment, you can't do much with it.

as for the rest of the build, the 5700xt is between 2060s and 2070s in terms of performance.

Yeah ive already got the case and peripherals, so I can go for the micro board to just save money?

I can get Corsair Vengeance RGB ram for £5 more? Gotta have that right haha, I think its the same spec?

Bigger PSU for future proofing? Is there a benefit to spending the extra £10 on the bigger board?

kinda pointless to do so.

besides you are better of getting a whisper M at that price.

that or stick with the TXM

i mean there is about 70£ worth of savings that wont impact much performance, but it invlves reverting to the TXM and the memmory. and some other bits

This Crucial RGB kit is cheaper than the one I originally suggested. It is 3000MHz CL15 so you can easily overclock it with the ryzen dram calc tool. Should look nice with the Tomahawk.

The Bitfenix Whisper is a good unit, but it has a really ugly 24 pin cable. See the pics in the review below.

https://www.jonnyguru.com/blog/2017/01/23/bitfenix-whisper-m-750w-power-supply/2/

The Thermaltake unit is solid already and has a 10 year warranty. You also have the Corsair RMx which has a 10 year warranty, and also UK RMA. Another good unit is the SuperFlower Leadex III Gold. Only a 7 year warranty, but it is very quiet (Even quieter than the RMx). If you don't mind Semi modular then the Corsair TXM as mentioned is also a good unit. As for wattage you don't need any more than 650W.
