I am looking to move my nas into a rackmount case as I already have a rack now. Looking for recommendations for a decent 4U chasis that has decent number of hard drive slots, lets say at least 8 for now, but the more the better. Also not looking to spend too much on it, I don't want to skimp out and get one of poor quality or anything, but some of these cases are mad expensive

Rosewill has the cheapest new stuff I know of, and cheaper than user Supermicro chassis on ebay too.

https://www.rosewill.com/product-category/server-systems-components/server-chassis/

Easy to source on Amazon and ebay.

They aren't top of the line by any means though but they will do the job.

Yeah I had looked at those in the past, specifically the L4500, however it seems that they are sold out of all the server chassis's except for the mining ones

Did you have a particular budget in mind? I can recommend the NORCO RPC-4224 but as you said some are pretty pricey and this ones middle of the road in terms of cost.
