High cpu usage low gpu usage Fortnite

Specs - GTX 1060 6gb, CPU i7-7700HQ, 8GB Ram

When I play fortnite my CPU usage is also around 90-100% with the GPU only at 20%-30% I play on all low 1920x1080, Fortnite is the only game I have problem with the GPU in overwatch PUBG Rb6 etc... They all run just fine with the GPU and CPU usage stable. I wouldn't be complaining if my fps was fine in fortnite but it's not every time I go to places where there's alot of building it dips to 50-60 fps and it starts stuttering and increasing the input lag while the GPU usage is always low, and in fights build fights, it always lag and stutter, I've try every way to fix it but it doesn't help. My cpu and gpu temps are around 60-70 Degrees. PLEASE HELP FIX :(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((( I cap my fps 120.

I have been having similar problems, although my i7-8086k is able to get my 1080ti to about 60%. Its probably not you, but the devs. The games graphics are in a bad place with lots of stutters and the inablity to handle even 40 player endgames. Not much we can do right now. Your CPU is a little underpowered, but its not a client side problem currently.

do you have on single stick of 8GB of RAM or two 4GB sticks of RAM that add up to 8Gigs? Having one single stick of 8GB means your computer is using only single channel RAM, so the memory is actually very slow. This is why the game is running poorly. If you actually have two sticks of 4GB,make sure they're in the dual channel configuration inside your computer.

Try with Epic view distance, Epic textures and everything else off, then uncap the framerate and try it.

An i7-7700HQ is a laptop CPU, there are probably only 2 slots.

Maybe, but that doesn’t seem likely if OP said other games are running fine. It could just be a problem with the game like mentioned above.

maybe the page file size is small and he should try adding some more memory through that. 8GB isn't that much memory these days.

playing in creative gives me like 60% cpu usage with 90-100% gpu usage and when I invite atleast 16 people in it's still the same. So the only problem is real games and competive.
