What cablemod do I need for this GPU cable?

Hello everyone. I bought some braided cables for my GPU a long time ago, and its bugged me enough to finally correct it. In the photo below you can see the left one is working fine. However you may notice the right connector isn't braided. That is because the braided cable needed this weird extension thing to work. What is it, and where can I find the correct braided one to replace it?

 

The GPU is an MSI GTX 1070

The braided one equivalent will be just an 8 pin, That's a 6+2 which only exists so that power supply manufacturers can save money and cater for two different connectors with the same cable.

Correct, I'm not sure what kit you have but just make sure it isn't an EPS 8 pin, The PCI one will fit very easily whereas the EPS one will not.
