the back pin is still good tho?

Not sure. Either the numbering goes like this:

ram.jpeg.05f515429b64855f178e0fc9d96697b3.jpeg

in which case, pin 122 (back of the broken pin) is not ground. If the numbering for the back or the front is flipped, it goes the opposite way (back is ground front is something else).

So I'm not sure.

If you're going to try this out, I don't recommend opening your own Windows or something; as you don't want that to suddenly turn off.

it won;t fry your motherboard, even if it was a power pin.

it'll just not recognise the RAM

it can only damage something if there is a short, and you physically cannot short something if there is just no contact at all.

Exactly.
I'd try it as a single stick only in the system, that way either the system boots or it doesn't.

I just looked really close and the pin thats blackish is pin 239(this is also vss), because the far end one has 240 written next to it, and the one on the other side is pin 2. Im really confident it will work now :)

That would be great if it does.
If so, the only other thing to do would be to test the stick with Memtest and make sure the missing gold finger isn't having any effect on it's operation.

If it passes that, you're good to go.

just asking, why are ground pins "ok" to break or whatever? like what makes them less useful
