AMD Ryzen 9 3900x or Intel i9 9900K?

Heyo there. I am planning on buying a new CPU to go along with my RIG. I have an i7 9700F and I hate it, it doesn't perform to the standard I need. To the point now.

 

I stream on a single PC while also gaming. I have heard good things about both the 3900x and 9900K sku's. For sheer performance, delivering great quality without diminishing in-game quality or performance, what is the better option for me here? Also something to note is that, I am planning on using my current CPU and mobo in a separate PC that will be dedicated to streaming. Anyway, I have done a ton of research and cannot seem to make-up my mind. So I came here. Thoughts? Input? I'm running an EVGA RTX 2080 Super XC Ultra atm.

Streaming with 9700F while gaming on it? Might as well try NVENC first

I use Nvenc already with my 2080S. Im upgrading my CPU regardless.

for workloads, streaming etc the ryzen 9 3900x.

 

purely for gaming the i9 9900k. r9 3900x is very close to i9 9900k so r9 3900x is more worth it.

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

3900x with an X570 board is the preferable alternative.

 

AFAIK there isnt much of a reason to buy intel unless you really like... native optane support? Idk.

You have an i7 9700f. Everyone is trying to tell you that you aren't upgrading by getting a 9900k or 3950x. 

 

But, if you insist waste your money how you like. You'll be disappointed either way. 

 

A 3950x will actually perform worse in most games, even with streaming. On RTX cards streaming really doesn't hurt CPU performance much. A 9900k just offers double the threads... Again not gonna matter AT ALL in many games today though it will in a year or two. 

 

The only way for you to get a meaningful CPU upgrade is to travel to the future. If you figure that out let me know how! 

 

Though you only have a 2080 Super? If you wanna waste money get a 2080ti you'll at least notice a performance improvement.

You can stream pretty good with 6 cores using OBS: Open Broadcaster Software.  Most games use 4 cores still.

Stay with the i7 9700F.  You wouldn't really see an improvement.

Ryzen of course, since Intel's new CPU along with new socket is coming. 9th gen will be outdated soon (though 10th gen is just more 14nm CPUs)
