1. Get cheaper ram. (anything 8 gb cl 9 1600+ will do) 2.Get the MSI G45 Gaming 3. Get an R4 (even tho that is just me) 4. Put the money you saved in a 250gb ssd and in a better monitor. (it's fine and stuff but it's no great)

If your color scheme is red and black there may not have another motherboard that is better for the same or less price.

1. I was mistaken the monitor is good for the money. (i tougth it was TN) 2. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2VxOB here you get a bigger ssd and you save 100$ for a mech keyboard or something like that

@op doesn't matter what motherboard you use. just pick one that looks pretty and be golden. and specially the one with the features you need right now.

even if you buy a 600$ mobo that has quad sli capabilities or quad xfire but you only use 1 gpu then it's useless.

if you use like

gpu

nic

sound card

wifi card

then get one with the apporiate slots. saves money to put to a better gpu.

Live your life like a dream.

1. MSI ones are waaay better for the money. 2. Nope i don't know what that is. Tell me please.

1. If the MSI ones you are referring to is the Mpower line then yes i would agree but it costs more than the Hero at present. 2. You can google it.

This is something you have to choose. At the moment the color scheme for socket 1150 is either gold and a blackish brown which looks like a vomit experience gone haywire or red and black which is a bit common now and i don't like red unless i am in a physical fight and then well i want to see lots once it is not mine. While there are some blue and black motherboards that may lack the features you are looking for if you picked out the Maximus VI Hero. I personally have a blue, black and white themed build as they are my favorite colors.

Now you can mod your motherboard to any color but i don't have that time.

Yes that is a really good motherboard but i am of the view that ASUS motherboards are the highest quality you can buy.

pretty much just buy the motherboard that you think looks beautiful(so long as it supports the socket).

and whichever has the features that you need now (not the one you need the next 3-5 years).

He uses a K type cpu so it would be stupid if he didnt choose a Z87 motherboard.

I myself have a system with the RoG maximus hero , its a good motherboard all round , but you pay a bit more for the bell and whistles.

Well if you are only interested in performance i would not recommend socket 1150 the overclocking potential is very poor, very rare if you pass 4.4Ghz with a temperature of lower than 50C.
