144hz monitor stops displaying 144hz after a couple hours

Ericckiim

I am currently using the Acer KG241Q Pbiip which is capable of running 144hz. I use an HDMI 2.0 cable and I easily get 200 fps+ on CSGO. I also use freesync. The issue is that the monitor runs feels smooth and like 144hz for a couple hours and after those hours it feels really choppy and not smooth at all. After I restart my computer, the monitor feels smooth again and the process repeats itself. Anyone know how to fix this?

A couple of questions such as what are the specs of the rest of your gear and how do you know it's the monitor and not the GPU? What have you done to narrow down the issue to the monitor?

What are your GPU temps when it starts getting choppy?
