Fusion 360 has me tearing my hair out...

I have these two objects I want to join with a cone. I have tried lofting but I just get an error message with no information of how to fix it.

Any CAD able to help a newbie out?

Let me know if there's any more information needed.

If I understand you correctly, you should use 'Combine' to join the two separate bodies into one. Loft should work then.

Just gave that a go. Still throws up the same error message.

I'm not a Fusion 360 - guru and I don't know how to do this the Correct(TM) way, but I can kinda-sorta get the result you're looking for by changing the order of the actions.

Here's a clip I recorded:

  1. Create a solid cube and a cylinder
  2. Move them to where you want them
  3. Loft them together
  4. Use shell on the cube to hollow out the interior
  5. Punch a hole at the bottom of the cylinder

Thanks for the help WereCatf.

I ended up making another box as you said and punching a hole in that. Not quite as elegant as I was going for but I'll report back if it works.
