Cinebench R15/R20 for seeing CPU performance

3DMark (demo on Steam is fine), run TimeSpy to get an idea of overall gaming performance.

AIDA64 for stress test (cpu)

Cinebench for benchmarks (cpu)

Furmark for GPU benchmarks

Furmark would be more of a GPU stresstest, rather than a benchmark.

pcpartpicker.com is the best tool to pick out components and check compatibility of your build

cinabench is good for checking CPU

Timespy and firestrike are good system checks

furmark if you want to overclock cpu

heaven is another popular one

basically go to a cpu or gpu review vid, or OC vid and see what people use
