You're right, I just said it's ugly :P

8350 is a great cpu, but wouldn't pcie 2.0 bottleneck gtx 780? I dont like AMD boards, they are old, behind.. what about upgrades?

Maximus vi hero or a msi gd45 gaming are much better boards, with better sound and ethernet, If you're buying a great pc, dont buy a dead socket.

3.0 to 2.0 PCI lanes really dont lose performance. I mean right now we are not even sending enough bandwidth from GPU to motherboard to match the level of 2,0.

Hero is for intel right now  and I despise Asus for the ROG line. (Its not Republic of gamers anymore is more of Republic of Over clocker's) and gd45 is good (I have a Z77 one in my rig) But AMD runs HOT. And durability is needed with more PCB layers. It also has a strong OC potential for a AMD board. Plus you have to buy more higher cost mother bored's for better OC's (when needed) and stability.

How's this setup?

CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor  ($199.97 @ OutletPC)

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 54.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler  ($20.81 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: Asus SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard  ($177.69 @ Amazon)
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Elite 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory  ($119.99 @ Microcenter)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($59.98 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 4GB Video Card  ($384.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Wireless Network Adapter: Rosewill RNX-N250PCe 802.11b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter  ($20.99 @ Newegg)

Total: $1201.36

Rid the 770 away. 770 cant use all of the 4GB of RAM on the board. Again 780 is much more better FPS due to it being a new GPU core (MUCH better FPS )

DONT get a WD blue! Blues are cheap and have high failure rates. WD black or Seagate for mass storage. Also take a 128GB SSD for a boot drive. If your spending 1500$ on a build take a SSD. I Approve of the 200R. Wifi thing is ok. You can get a better CPU cooler. But At least change the 770 back to 780. THAT makes a FPS difference.

If you're just gaming, you shouldn't need 16gb or ram, 8gb would be enough.

Why is that fan better than the one I had? I'm just wondering cause the one I had was cheaper. I have a budget of $1500 but if I don't spend it all that is good

The whole heatsink is larger that means the CPU stays colder. The fan's are noctua which are some of the BEST fans ever in the world. They push air and stay quiet. When building a PC use the most out of the money for performance. All of these parts are the best of the best. Trust me just use these!

Lol so Intel fanboy is going to run in here screaming? Hes gaming. Literally he won't need anything more than a 8350. The games he plans to use is not CPU intensive. A AMD 8350 is a really good CPU. It OC's well and has 8 cores. He runs minecraft that uses optifine and that makes more cores render faster. I have a Intel i5 3550 and I had a 3770 before that. My friend has a 8350 stock. I see NO difference in them. Its GAMING. Benchmarks are BENCHMARKS. No Real world performance. You cant rely off Benchmarks 247. Games utilize GPU's. 780 with a 8350 will suit him fine. So Stop rushing in hear linking to a thread saying intel is better. Both are pretty much the same. State your own facts if you want to argue.

Hey one last question, what do you think of the Corsair Graphite 230T? I like the fans and the red LEDs

IT works! its pretty much the same as the 200R so you should be good! The case only matters when it comes down to cable management and personal preference. I stuck the 200R in there because its a simple cheap trusted little case.

Fact my I5 4670K in borderlands 2 beat my AMD with the same GPU. how in the world can you give this guy a 1500$ PC gaming build with an 8350 in it is beyond reason at least an 8320.at 900$ is far better build than what you posted the I5 4670K wins period AMD for budget builds this is not a budget build please stop. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/111882-the-4670k-or-3570k-vs-8350-aggregate-comparison/

Thats cute. Really it is. Have you seen the games that we wants to play? Look dude, I have both. I love both. I wanted to fit a 780 because games are starting to become MORE GPU dependent. I was watching the developer mantle video and it showed Dx11 and Mantle. It was running off a R9 290x with a under clocked 8350 at 1.6 GHz. The performance hit was so low it was unnoticeable. Games are more GPU dependent right now more then CPU as of right now. So in real world performance they dont really effect anything. I mean look lose what? 1-2 frames? This guy is playing games that ARE GPU bound. No CPU's in higher tears for both are not bottlenecking anything AMD and INTEL. Your not even reasoning your just shoving a link into my face telling me to read when you have intel people ON THAT link and AMD people discussing with there own knowledge. If you want to argue stop pushing a link in my face and tell me what YOU know about this! Not some link. I dont care about a link. This guy is going to get pretty much 60+ FPS on both intel and AMD and its going to be because of the 780. SO argue with your own knowledge.

What i know is that an I5 4670K is better than an fx 8350 in gaming even linus video proves that. also the 8350 should not be recommended when the 8320 is the same CPU just clocked at 3.5ghz when their are plenty of builds with a far cheaper budget than 1500$ its insane also foolish 900$ is the better budget for AMD than 1500$ . 1 of main my issues is you telling him to get an fx 8350 with an Intel price range with a 1500$ budget AMD should not be mentioned especially for gaming

its wrong

What i know is that an I5 4670K is better than an fx 8350 in gaming even linus video proves that. also the 8350 should not be recommended when the 8320 is the same CPU just clocked at 3.5ghz when their are plenty of builds with a far cheaper budget of 1500$ its insane also foolish 900$

Theres no point to argue with you. There is not any. Your one sides and cant be reasoned with. From experience both are great and both are awesome. I leave you with being on top while I will be the better man by not arguing like a 6 year old.

people are recommending a 4670k, 16GB RAM and a GTX 780 for playing games like WoW, LoL and Minecraft?

Somehow i think it's a bit too overboard.

Go for something cheaper and save your £££. I have almost the same basic setup and i'm yet to run any games that struggle with it at around the highest settings and 2560x1440. It's a very high end card.

If you're dead set on spending that much, fine. But i reccomend not to bother given your use case. (I mean, anyone could buy a £5000 PC with SLI titans and 32GB ram but if you're just playing terraria then it's a waste)

I was looking at the I5-4670K, it looks good and is within my price range. Is there anything that would have better performance for around the same cost?

the AMD 8320 or the I5 4670k both are your best options, they perform rather on par so really now it just depends on whether you want to go AMD or Intel. I personally would get the 8320 because I could use the extra cores in other areas than gaming. (even if they are weaker cores than intel's)

Spoiler

All I did was use the budget he gave me :/ i mean he said that 1500$ was his budget and I chose parts for him that would fit. It can be lower for what he plays but I guess the 1500$ is for more games in the future and or future proof? Idk. And thanks for agreeing. There is not a difference between AMD and intel pretty much in real world gaming. Everything is GPU dependent.
