Hey everyone, I am planning on building my own PC and I can't decide on a CPU. What would be the best CPU for a PC that is only used for gaming and browsing the internet? I play World Of Warcraft, Diablo 3, Borderlands, League Of Legends, and Minecraft occasionally. Thanks :)

EDIT: My budget is $300, sorry should've put that it in :P

Depends on your budget. I'd probably go with the cheapest IvyB/Haswell i5 you can get.

I was looking at the I5-4670K, it looks good and is within my price range. Is there anything that would have better performance for around the same cost?

For max gaming on a budget fx 8320

The FX 8320 has eight cores and the i5-4670 only has 4, does this affect gaming?

not really, mainly all computer games now only use at max 4 cores (Battlefield uses up to 8) i5's are really fast and there really is not a huge split in performance between a i5 and a 8320. 8320 is more affordable can over clock okish. If you are going to play minecraft a 8320 works well with optifine due to multi core rendering.

Let's say I was playing Borderlands, what would give me the better fps?

Is the AMD FX 8320 good? It has more cores and a higher ghz

Its cheap, 8 cores and high clock rate. Its good for gaming but AMD cores are weaker than intels. But for gaming you won't see a difference in FPS or performance at all between an i5 and 8320.  Id go for a 8320 (if you doing a new build) and put the extra saved money into a Graphics card or mobo OR cooling. AMD runs hot so you have to invest in something like a CM hyper 212. And that's just basic cooling.

Borderlands is mainly GPU dependent you should see no change in FPS between a i5 nore a 8320. Both are great but 8320 is cheaper. If you want to know bout FPS rate then look at graphics cards more. Most games render off GPU's so CPU's are not that important (as long as there more then quad then your mainly fine) Invest the extra money you save for a 760 or a 270x. For a Graphics card. But for Minecraft with optifine you should get a major FPS boost with the (multi core) option selected.

Ok.. Then the most you'll ever need is a 4670k

Not even, go for a lower tear i5 and put money somewhere else in the build like GPU's mobo's cooling and or SSD.

Well can you tell me what parts you are using or your money in total and we can help figure out an good part list that has everything in a fair performance to cost ratio.
