Hey!

I built my rig close to a year ago, and the last 3 months i've been dropping frames in Fortnite. I can get 200-250 by myself, but when there is many opponents in the area my framerate drops to about 50-70 fps.

Any ideas? This is very annoying!

My specs:

Nvidia GTX 1060 OC 3gb

Intel i5-6600k 3.5GHz

HyperX 16gb ram 2400MHz

Win10 64bit

Thanks

first of all this is not high end this is mid range (lower mid range or between lower and highher)

But that aside 50-70fps is not good. Check the temperature of the cpu and gpu. Do you have 1 stick or 2 stick of ram?

Drivers and bios up to date?

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

Your framerate sounds just about right

here an example at 1600x900 (lower than 1080p resolution so it should have more FPS than you in the same conditions -although CPU is different and I think better but in any case the delta shouldn't be more than +-10 to 20 FPS because of the CPU difference at the same settings)

at low settings he gets about 100FPS when people are nearby

at medium he dips to around 80 FPS when people are nearby

also keep in mind that your internet connection may also play a part many people = higher upload and download rate which means (incase your connection isnt strong to hold up) FPS drops

The reduction in FPS is because your system has to process all of the extra data from the people in the arena.

Not because there is a problem with your equipment.

60 FPS is still pretty good
