What are you planning on doing with the mic? If you're gonna upgrade, go with xlr and an actual audio interface, usb sucks. If you need help choosing, this website from a youtuber called podcastage recommends the best interfaces and mics for every budget

I just looked it up and it sounds horrible and keeps clipping, for the same price you could get a behringer umc22 and xm8500 (+cable of course) which is amazing for starters. So yeah, you need an upgrade

xlr female to xlr male, that's it. The interface comes with an usb cable used to connect to your pc.

One thing i'd like to add though, if you buy a really long cable, like 3+m (10ft i think) it might pick up noise, so get something shorter

If you're recording for youtube and want that stereotypical sensitive/detailed sound I'd move more in the direction of an XLR condenser mic than the XM8500.
The two most popular bang-for-buck condenser mics have to be the AT 2020 and the MXL V67G, the 2020 has a USB version if you really don't want to go down the audio interface route but I would advise against USB mics just for the upgrade path options an interface provides.

Personally I have a UMC1820 interface and while I have a modest collection of mics I use a Behringer C2 pencil mic for talking on discord/recording basic voice stuff or streaming. It's a really cheap option that sounds pretty great (for the price) and it's low profile. When recording singing/instruments I'll pull out something a little higher end but there are always cheap options that are more than good enough.

Hope that helped,

well i dunno wat direction to go to now

If you're having trouble deciding I absolutely agree with Fox, if you can't try them out for yourself go to YouTube and check out some reviews/tests of each mic whether on the podcastage channel or somewhere else. In the end what matters is how it sounds on your voice and frankly none of us can predict that beyond real broad statements.

i do think dynamic is a good option. it cancels out most of the background noise and is direction to only my face.
