No. It's not. I'm not technically inclined and it's like the other guy said. Apparently my upload speeds aren't up to par so it would be a stupid thing to flex about.

No GamerBlake related thread is complete without a statement about his CPU and GPU, It's good to know that the GPU in question hasn't changed since we hadn't seen an update about it in a while.

You got me. I’m guilty of honestly answering people who ask me what GPU I’m using. Please don’t put me in prison!

Although I’m honored you took the time to go back and read through thousands of my posts just so you could say something snarky that makes you look dumb.

That takes some serious time and dedication.

Now with the lockdowns in place, time is certainly something that is on a lot of people's hands.

Having said that It really doesnt take much time to find your posts since its a daily occurance (and one thousand ish posts really aren't thousands of posts, though tendency to exaggerate is within character). Although I appreciate that for somebody that struggles with finding their own threads it may appear as an honour-worth ordeal ;)

Hey guys!

I just moved from the Sacramento area to an area about an hour away and I'm wondering if the internet at my new house is good enough for online gaming like my old house?

Here are my benchmark results from speedtest.net.

Forgive my internet ignorance, Im just not sure what speeds are good/bad for download/upload.

Thanks!

😲 Holy Shit, what is your secret to getting such high speeds? Surely you understand why everyone responded the way they did? What are you using a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet connection or something? I only got 359.22 mbps for download speed and 24 mbps for upload speed, with a ping rate of 8 ms. I have a mostly smooth experience gaming online, so I know you'll have a hell of a time. You've got nothing to worry about. 👍👍

I think it might just be the area I moved too.

When I posted the question originally I didn’t know they were high speeds. I saw the numbers but I didn’t know what was good and what was not good. That’s why I was getting annoyed with people asking if I was joking or not. I wish they would’ve just said “Yes those speeds are more than sufficient” instead of getting all snarky and acting like jerks.

Yeah, well as the saying goes, its easy to be a jerk behind the safety and anonymity of a computer screen. On the internet, people are more unhinged in their behavior, simply because they know they can get away with it.

Yeah that’s true. I think it’s also because they think other people are like themselves so if they know something they assume everyone else knows it too.

Im fairly knowledgable when it comes to hardware but pretty ignorant when it comes to software & networking so I wasn’t sure if 900 MB/s download 40 MB/s upload was fast or not. For all I knew the average download speed could’ve been 2000 MB/s & upload speed 200 MB/s in which case my internet would be extremely slow in comparison. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Nah, to get speeds anywhere near that high, you would have to be using a 2.5-10 gigabit Ethernet connection, more closer to 10 I think. For a 1 gigabit connection, your speeds are about as good as its going to get, at least from what I've seen so far. You shouldn't be experiencing any lag at all unless you are connected to a server on the other side of the planet or something, where the one hosting it has a bad connection.
