Opinions on 2080 Super vs. 2080Ti for the next two years.

Hey all. So what is everyone's opinion on the 2080 Super vs. the 2080Ti looking into the future? I'm asking because I am at a toss-up between these two cards in the Founders Edition variants. I am not interested in the 30-series cards as I need something pretty much now, so I'm planning on upgrading with the 40-series or whatever it winds up being. My question is, would you say the $500 price premium is worth the extra 3GB of GDDR6 and the better specced silicon? Are there any titles that are running into VRAM limitations at 1440p with 8GB cards yet? That's honestly my biggest concern. The 10FPS differential between the two cards in most games/benchmarks is relatively negligible, and really makes that extra $500 for the tiny advantage to the 2080Ti a little hard to swallow. I just recently finished a build for someone where we went with the 2080 super. from what we concluded the Ti's speed isn't that much more considering the price

I don't think its worth it. VRAM is not much of an issue, I run a 2080 with 3440x1440 and I never even come close to VRAM limitation issues... At 1440p, a 2080 super will be pretty much fantastic.

What's your monitor resolution/refresh rate?

 

If it's just 1440p 60hz a cheaper ~$300 RX 5700 will do just fine, or just drop to meddium-high settings to get your fps above 100

I would stick to the 2080 Super. The performance differential between it and the Ti are not significant at 1440p even 144hz.

2560x1440 165Hz. I have a 2080Ti in my main system and a 2080 Super would be the first lower tier card I've bought since the 700 series. Champagne tastes and all that jazz.

Then just wait for the 30 series and toss the 2080ti into it at that point, should be out in Q4

2080S is just a barely upgraded 2080, so I wont consider the 2080S at all. At least the 2080Ti can only be compared to the Titan RTX which is hugely more expensive.

Trying for no compromise as much as possible. The system will be entirely watercooler, so heat isn't really an issue. I appreciate the input though!
