I am juuuust getting into mining litecoins and I thought I would see if others here at LTT.com were also doing the same. So far I have found this community to be hospitable so I am hoping that my noobiness will be tolerated.

So here is where I am at. I am using a 3770k and a MSI 680 lightning with cudaminer. I just got it running and ATM I am solo mining. Perhaps I will join a pool but for now I thought this would be a good way to get my feet wet so to speak. As mentioned I am new to this and so I what I would like ask pertains to the kh/s I am seeing. Attached is a photo of the reported ~1600kh/s.

please tell me why I am seeing that high of a number?

Thank you

Using a Geforce Card really isn't efficient. We get ~650Mhash/s on a OC'd 7950

he said he's mining litecoins not bitcoins.

he should be getting 100-200 khash/s

and I have no idea on the oddly high hash rate as I haven't mined litecoins yet.

Will work for electronic components and parts

I too mine litecoins. I use a 7950 atm and get ~600 Kh/s on 1000 1250 speeds. What I think you should do is mine for a full 24/7  and stop it then see the profit your get from it. run it through a calulator to see your average kh/s. that number doesn't really seem right. I myself use Wemineltc.com. Been working well. I use to mine bitcoin but ever since the difficulty increase litecoins have become more profitable.

Across the vast and majestic gulf of time and space, the jimmies rustle softly.

I mine litecoins right now. I don't trust any hashrates in all honesty. The software isn't perfect yet and neither are the pools. I just let my cards do the work and watch my litecoins increase. Hashrate is irrelevant to me as long as I am getting coins.

Those numbers are about 10 times what you should see, The max i could push out of an 7950 was about 650, and that card is way better for mining

I mined litecoins for a few days and sorta just stopped doing it..  For me running my 2 gaming rigs, i was basically going to only turn over a couple of dollars for 2 hours of running :/

1600 KH/S with an nVidia card? Wow amazed tbh.

What pool do you use?

Nm , ure solo ming...

Tbh solo ming isnn't really profitable cuz u'll need a long ass time to get that 50 LTC block , even with 1600 KH/S , i would advice you to join a pool bro like give-me-ltc or something.

Just what SSOB said, it could be profitable above 3000 kh/s but I would still recommend using a pool at that point, i guess that above 5000 could be enough for solo
