Two different computers on the same router getting different speed

So the situation is that my friend has two different computers (his girlfriend uses the other one) and whenever one is using the computer the other one cant seem to play any video games and or watch anything, it doesnt seem to load anything or just take ages to load in and whenever playing any online game the ping spikes up to 900 but goes back down to normal for a bit (they cant get

wired connection cause of their housing situation) they pay for 100 up and 50 down 

They have changed isp loads of times but the problem is persistent

I'd look at the ip configuration. Sounds suspiciously like they are conflicting with each other.

If any one client is saturating the available bandwidth it can cause other clients to have connection issues. If you can use another 802.11x standard that has more bandwidth and a router that supports MIMO it should allow more users to do more latency sensitive or bandwidth demanding tasks simutaniously.

 

You can also limit the bandwidth the each MAC address in the QoS settings. It can stop any one user from using all the available bandwidth.

Activate QoS on the router if the feature is available and specify traffic priority.
