I know what you mean though. My dad runs a 560Ti in one of his rigs. He only plays at 720p though.

 

Think the drop in RAM speed will matter? Down to 1333mhz.

 

I know FX is better for OC'ing, but where does X come into play? Useless middle ground cost wise?

Are the 760G etc boards basically an H87/1ish equivalent? They're so cheap that I never know what's worth anything.

Not much of a difference. I'm thinking about whether the extra $5 is worth the peace of mind. 

It's generally better than 970 and worse than 990fx? It's not really useless. Remember that parts and prices vary from region to region.

The 760G is more like H61.
